As the video progresses an ego is born; a delicate, free-flowing fabric blowing across the sand like a tumbleweed. The use of this plastic, man-made material juxtaposed with scenes of nature represent an internal/external struggle and a distortion, or ‘filtered-reality’ viewed through the lens of the ego. A birth, a realization, a struggle, and finally, Ego Nidra.
Nidra is a Sanskrit word translating literally to ‘sleep’. The first segment of Ego Nirdra opens with the voices of 6 different ‘women’, and/or, google translate ‘bots’ speaking english with accents ranging from The US, Norway, India, Mexico, France, and Germany. Here we speculate a future where ‘spiritual leaders’ don’t actually have a spirit, yet ‘belong’ to actual cultures.
